Sunday is always a sad day at Comic Con as you know shortly you will have to pack up and head back home to the real world. Fortunately, Sunday is also Kids’ Day at Comic Con so while you are bummed you didn’t get that Harry Potter bag or you were shut out of your favorite panel you at least get to see all those adorable little Batman and Robins, Wonder Womans and Darth Vaders to make you smile.

There are plenty of activities and fun stuff for the whole family but I think my favorites were the Legos play tables and the How to Draw Star Wars for Kids panel. Superman may leap tall buildings in a single bound but I found a Robin who builds them at the Legos booth. Multiple lego play tables were set up and kids (and parents too) were allowed to play for hours.

Kid's Day also allowed me to attend what is now one of my most favorite Comic Con panels ever--How to Draw Star Wars for Kids. Bonnie Burton (You Can Draw: Star Wars) and artist Katie Cook (The Clone Wars webcomic) lead in interactive panel where kids (and Suvudu bloggers!) learned how to draw their favorite characters. Bonnie and Katie took character requests from the audience and we all drew along while they entertained kids and parents alike with their witty insights and hysterical comments. Kids will be asking their parents about Journey, Duran Duran, and who Fabio is for while that's all I'm saying.
Unfortunately, my video didn't turn out well due to the glare of the screen but if you couldn't make the panel you can still learn how to draw along to just check out the Star Wars Kids site in the Stuff to Do section. As for turning into a Star Wars artist yourself, Bonnie recommended always carrying around a blank book and drawing the backs of cereal boxes. Hopefully, I can chew my Capt'n Crunch and draw too!
