I was perusing the internet(s) this morning when I ran across a thought-provoking blog post by author Robert V.S. Redick.
Robert is the author of the widely-acclaimed debut novel, The Red Wolf Conspiracy. We met at the 2009 NY Comic Con and after only talking to him for a few moments I was struck by how thoughtful and balanced he approached the conversation. Later that night at the Random House con party, I realized Robert is one of the smartest people I’ve ever met.
So when he decided to write a blog post about Star Trek and how the series has progressed over the last 40 years, I was curious what he had to say.
After the huge success of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek, what Robert had to say shocked me a bit.
Read the post HERE! And definitely comment on it.
After reading it twice, I think Robert is daring people to comment!

It still amazes me how much the old trekkies guys don’t understands; this is a new era, new values and new times! And i don’t say that because i love it, but its a fact!
I have seen almost all the star trek movies and series, some can make me dream, some can make me thinking, some was only crap! But i always get an open mind when I go see a "star trek"! Because this is the way of some one who love to dream, some one who love scifi, some one who love "star trek"! And when a read this post, i see only some one who lost perspective, caught in a partiality, in blindness. In fact a "old trekkie" who lost perspective, who dont know how to dream any more :(
Wake up they are a new sheriff in town, they are a new star trek, a new dream, to carry on the star trek legacy! Don’t be so blind by your oldness and try to open your mine!
