Growing up - I was obsessed (and still am) with the Universal classic black and white horror films of the 1930's and 40's. There was something about the black and white film, the use of shadow and those first interpretations of bringing monsters to life on screen that really captivated me.
This lead to me finding (and becoming obsessed with) George A. Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. More black and white film, an incredibly eerie and atmospheric soundtrack, and of course the horde of flesh eaters slowly shambling along, fixed on satiating their bloodlust.
So, years ago - when I was hanging out with my buddy Adam, I happened to stumble upon on a case of one his cds that was laying on the floor on his parent's house...

Just from this cover, I knew this was something new for me and needed to know more. I needed to listen to this disc, whatever it was. When I flipped the case over and read the track list, then I was hooked; songs with titles like Horror Business, We Bite, Hate Breeders, Astro Zombies, Skulls, London Dungeon, Mommy, Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight, Teenagers From Mars, etc...20 tracks about things that went bump in the night. The clincher of course was Night Of The Living Dead.

Check in tomorrow for more on how the Misfits tomorrow on a most fitting day, Halloween!
