Thank You, Veterans!

captainamerica-grave.jpg

Today is a solemn day, a reminder.

Freedom from tyranny has a cost, a high one indeed.

Originally called Armistice Day, the holiday to honor our war veterans began with Germany signing the peace agreement with the Allies of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Later in the 1950’s, Congress decided to expand Armistice Day to include all veterans and changed the name to Veterans Day.

Other countries Allied with the United States in World War I have specific holidays as well on November 11th, taking a day to remember their military.

Thank you, veterans of the armed forces and your families who sacrifice so much—those who have come before, serve now, and have given the ultimate price for our freedom.

You are honored every day.

and we thank you, Suvudu/Random House, and all other Americans for honoring and appreciating us.

It is a sacrifice (and then more sacrifices upon sacrifices) and it is "service", to be sure.

God Bless you guys & God Bless America!
