The Mystery Knight by GRRM

Every few years a great anthology is released.

This year, on March 16th, we have Warriors!

Warriors is edited by George R. R. Martin and Gardner Dozois. It contains more than a dozen great short stories and novellas written by some of the best fantasy writers publishing now.

I started the anthology with its last story, The Mystery Knight. Set in the Seven Kingdoms of his mega-popular Ice & Fire series, The Mystery Knight is the third novella George R. R. Martin has written devoted to his two characters Dunk and Egg. I am writing this post mostly to inform Ice & Fire fans that it is easily the best of the three novellas thus far and well worth the wait.

It should also help alleviate some of the withdrawal symptoms from having to wait for A Dance With Dragons so long!

I will spend the week of March 8-12 writing reviews of five different short stories from the Warriors anthology. The Mystery Knight will be the first review on March 8th.
