FABLES FANS (spoiler alert if you haven't reached vol 11 yet)

Okay I JUST finished vol 11 (I've been almost exclusively reading the graphic novels) and I want to talk Fables with other fans! Anyone else wonder what happened to Baba Yaga? Will Prince Charming come back (he is pretty popular in fairytales after all)? Anyone else have any lingering thoughts?

  • To be honest, I thought it was a little, brisk. I mean, this was the war that overthrew the Adversary and his thousands of worlds, and it took... three issues? I know it was a quick commando mission, but the 'Good Prince' arc was like 6 issues long, and it wasn't half as important.

That said, it was well written, well planned and action-packed, and opens up the Fable world to loads of interesting stories. Baba Yaga's lurking around, which CAN'T be good, and Gepetto is hilarious. Willingham is definitely taking this series forward, if you read the singles (which you should for James Jean's covers ALONE), you would know that the next arc, 'The Dark Ages,' shakes up the status quo and shows us that Willingham still has plenty of stories to tell.
