Which of George R.R. Martin's characters in his brilliant Song of Ice and Fire series is your favorite? Or I might ask the question like this: whose chapters do you most look forward to reading? When I first started the series, I looked forward to Bran's chapters the most. But now, I can't wait for Cersei. She is the most whacked character in the series, and I love her for it.

And by the way, try not to post major spoilers... especially deaths... since not everyone posting will have read all the books.
Ned Stark. Clearly.
Tyrion -- he's purely pragmatic, but with a touch of good inside him that isn't completely sappy. I understand what he does and why he does it, and it doesn't make me angry or mad. He's okay with his ugliness, and yet, he also isn't, and when he gets deluded into thinking he's accepted, reality sets him straight--and he isn't crushed by it.
I guess, in a way, he's the strongest one (I know: awwwww). Seriously, though, while Jon Snow is incredibly brave, and I figure he'll eventually be the "hero," he's kind of a jerk. Tyrion knows his place--and has a sense of duty and loyalty--that no other character has in these books.
So yeah, I have a man-crush on him.
Jaime Lannister is the only answer for me. Never thought I'd want to name a kid after him by the time I finished the first two books, but that all changed in A Storm of Swords. Talk about character development.
None, from that.
My favorite George R. R. Martin character is The Great and Powerful Turtle.
Tyrion Lannister (the cunning pragmatist) and Arya Stark (dangerously plucky tomboy) are my two current favorites. But since I finished reading A Feast For Crows in 2006, the story is less than fresh in my mind.
Jon Snow. Big heart, believes in people and remains loyal. Smart and resourceful.
I have only read books #1 and #2 and will be re-reading them and the rest here in a month or two when the next book's date is announced.
But for what I've read, it has to be Jon Snow. Such a great character and I am hoping he plays a big role all the way up to the end.
Toss up between a few. I really like all of the Lannister siblings, my favorite at the beginning was Tyrion, but Jaime is catching up to him by the end of Feast. I'm also really intrigued by The Hound. There is a lot more to him than first apparent. Lastly, Danny Targ (don't have the books with me and don't feel like trying to spell either name). I wasn't sure how I felt about her at first, but by the end of Storm, I really want her to get the throne back.
Littlefinger. He is surivor, cunning and thinks more than any other character except possibly Varies who is also a favorate of mine. They are both 3 steps ahead of anyone else.
It's ironic that neither have a point of view chapter.
Tyrion.
I've only done the first three books of the series so far. I'd have to say that I like Arya and Tyrion the best. Arya because really she's got spunk and has had it from the get go but then she also really developes this whole darker attitude. Which after everything she's gone through at such a young age you really understand. Seriously the girl had a death prayer.
Tyrion because he relies so strongly on his brain. He thinks things through even though he didn't always see what the out come may be and he had a hard time knowing when to shut up. Although he really did get the best of Tywin.
Daenerys Targaryen though not really a fav yet really for me is very insteresting. I do find myself looking forward to her chapters to see exactly what is going on over there.
Also while she is one of my least favorites I do get in the habit of looking forward to Sansa's chapters. I really started off not liking the girl but after awhile you really do start feeling sorry for her because she's mostly the cause of all that has happened and just because she likes to live in this bubble of hers where everything is about songs and stories of nights and maidens.
Tyrion Lannister by far. I love his devious nature and how his greayest attribute as a character is his mind. I can't wait to see what happens to him after he crosses th Narrow Sea!!
its most definitely a toss up between arya and jon snow for me!
Tyrion, with the Hound as a close second, both on account of they never fail to surprise me a couple of times per book.
Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, and
Jaime for his tremendous growth as a character (and a person) over the course of the books. I utterly loathed both him and Cersei in the first book, and waited gleefully for Robb or Catelyn to have him killed. Yet, once he became a POV character, I found him to be a brilliant deconstruction of the "knight in shining armor" archetype. Not to spoil anything, but these days I find him to be extremely sympathetic, and fascinating to read about. I dearly hope he survives all 7 books.
Tyrion, because despite all odds, he wants to be a decent person. He's intelligent, cunning, practical when he needs to be, but deep down, he wants to be a good person. Fate just wants to spit on him for it. Plus, he's got some great sarcastic dialogue.
And, just for the heck of it, Beric Dondarrion along with his brotherhood. They've got such an awesomely tragic vibe going throughout the second book. Arya's POVs are always the ones I reread first from that book, just for them.
I'm also a fan of Brienne, Samwell Tarly, The Hound, Arya, Oberyn Martell, and Barristan the Bold.
For me it's a tie betweeen Daenerys and Arya. I feel like their stories are the most compelling, and I daresay they've been through the most transformation as characters from the beginning of the series. I'm really, really excited to see where they'll end up.
John Snow
Though later on Jamie Lannister became my close second. He Seems to have the best character devlopement out of anyone so far.
I Love Sandor"the Hound" Clegane, and John Snow, followed by Tyrion and Jaimie, Now...who does everyone HATE the most?
