"I'm pretty sure the people next door are moving," I was telling my husband the other day. "She was talking about getting a Uhaul."
"Really?" he asked. "When did you talk to her?" I squirmed a little.
"She was telling the man next door while I was watering the plants. But she was doing it loudly."
We all have bad habits. I have a tendency to "overhear" things--I admit it. It's hard to defend it, as hard as it is to stop myself from doing it. But some bad habits seem peculiarly suited to writers...or at least frequently indulged in by them. And I suspect they're better off for it. here are seven that might actually be good for your writing. . .
