Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Abyss by Troy Denning is now on sale. Abyss is the third book in the series that finds Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker exiled from the Jedi order he rebuilt. Luke and his son, Ben, are following a trail of clues across the galaxy in a quest to find the reasons behind Jacen Solo’s dark downfall and to gain redemption for the Jedi order.

Series authors Aaron Allston, Christie Golden, and Troy Denning sat down with Suvudu at the San Diego Comic Con to discuss the fate of the Jedi now and tease us about what pitfalls might await them in the future.

Friday was STAR WARS day at San Diego Comic Con and Del Rey had a packed schedule of events. The days began with a Star Wars: The Essential Atlas signing with authors Dan Wallace and Jason Fry along with illustrators Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas.

Leland Chee, Sue Rostoni, Pablo Hidalgo, Shelly Shapiro, and authors Aaron Allston, Troy Denning, and Christie Golden all hosted a packed room for a panel about the Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi series,

Aaron, Troy, and Christie capped off the afternoon with a crowded signing back at the Del Rey Star Wars booth.

It isn’t June, but this was an offer too exciting to hold back. Available right now in our Suvudu Free Library, is an original e-book short story, “Precipice,” the first in a series that tell the untold story of the Fate of the Jedi’s forgotten Sith castaways, their battle to survive, and their quest to re-conquer the galaxy!

Written by fan favorite John Jackson Miller, this first installment offers a unique look into the back story of events that will begin to unfold in Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Omen (Del Rey Hardcover, available June 23rd). Included with the short story is an exclusive excerpt from Omen.

So what’s the story about? Good question! Here’s a little set-up:

You’ll want to keep your eyes out for future installments in this series of shorter works (and we’ll do the same) as they reveal the history of the Sith castaways who are emerging from the shadows in the Fate of the Jedi series.

Fate of the Jedi is the new Star Wars series set almost four decades after the events of Return of the Jedi, where the characters we know and love have become legends in their own right even as they struggle against the Dark Side of the Force. The Dramatis Personae, a free ebook in our Free Library, introduces new readers or readers who need a refresher to what has been going in the last 40 years in the Star Wars universe.

It is a fun read, making me want to pull out the movie trilogies and watch them back to back, but Dramatis Personae also has an excerpt from Book One in Fate of the Jedi, Star Wars: Outcast, written by Aaron Allston!

Del Rey and LucasBooks Announce Extension of Star Wars Publishing Contract and New Multi-Book Series

Maintaining a relationship that began more than 30 years ago, LucasBooks and Del Rey are slated to publish another 45 Star Wars titles from 2009 through the end of 2013. The titles will include 35 novels and 10 nonfiction books.
