- How To Enter
To enter, submit one (1) anime-style portrait or rendering of yourself and one (1) unaltered photograph for comparison to info@suvudu.com between 12:01 AM EDT September 10, 2008 and midnight on September 18, 2008. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. All entries must be created by and be the original work of the entrant, and must not violate the rights of any third party.
There is a limit of one (1) entry per person (regardless of whether a person has more than one e-mail address) per e-mail address (regardless of whether more than one person uses the same e-mail address) for the duration of the Contest. In the event of a dispute about entries submitted by multiple individuals using the same e-mail account, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to enter the Sweepstakes at the actual time of entry. The authorized e-mail account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor is not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical, or computer failures of any kind, or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled or delayed by computer transmission. Entries that are late, inaccurate, incomplete, illegible, lost or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. - Eligibility
This Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, and the District of Columbia, and Canada, who are 13 years of age or older on September 10, 2008. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void in Puerto Rico and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Random House Inc., and their parent companies, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, and advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies; their immediate family members, and persons living in their household are not eligible to enter this Sweepstakes. - Prizes
There will be four (4) First Prize Winners. Each First Prize Winner will receive two (2)weekend passes to the New York Anime Festival and three Random House manga books. The approximate retail value of each prize is $142.85. If for any reason a prize is not available or cannot be fulfilled, Random House Inc. reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value, including, but not limited to, cash equivalent. Taxes, if any, are the Winners' sole responsibility. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be assigned. No prize or cash substitutes allowed, except at the discretion of the sponsor as set forth above. Travel and other accommodations and expenses in connection with attending the New York Anime Festival are not included in the Prize and are the sole responsibility of each Winner. - Winners
All submissions will be reviewed and judged by a panel of judges employed by Sponsor. Winners will be selected based upon how well each entrant translates his/her likeness into manga form. This is a contest of skill. Winners will be determined according to the judgments and discretion of the judges, whose decisions are final. Odds of winning are depend on the skill of the entrant and the number of entries received. All prizes will be awarded. By submitting artwork and/or pictures to Suvudu by email, entrants agree to be bound by the official rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsor. Winners will be notified by e-mail on or about September 22, 2008. The prizes will be awarded in the name of the winners. Failure by any prize winner to respond to e-mail notification within one week, regardless of whether such failure is due to personal, physical, digital or any other reason, will result in forfeiture of the prize. All Winners will have to provide mailing addresses to receive the prizes. - Ownership of Entries
By submitting an entry, entrants acknowledge that all submissions become the property of the Sponsor who acquires all rights, including copyright, to the artwork, and that entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Entrants specifically acknowledge and agree that Sponsor will have the right, without restriction, to use, reproduce, publish and distribute entries submitted without payment of any compensation or consideration to any entrant or any other person or entity (except the prizes awarded to the winners pursuant to these Official Rules). By entering the Contest or accepting any prize, entrants represent that all artwork are the original creation of the entrant, have not been copied in whole or in part from any other work, and do not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, rights of publicity or other proprietary right of any person or entity. - Reservations
By participating, entrants and Winners (and entrants' and Winners' parents/legal guardians) agrees that Random House, Inc., and its parent companies, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, advertising, promotion, fulfillment agencies, and suppliers will have no liability whatsoever, and will be held harmless by entrants and winners (and entrants' and winners' parents/legal guardians) for any liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to person, including death, and property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, misuse, or use of any of the prizes, or participation in this Contest. By entering this Contest the Winners or Winners' parent or legal guardian (if Winner is under 18) consents to the use of the Winners' name, likeness, and biographical data for publicity and promotional purposes on behalf of Random House, Inc. with no additional compensation or further permission (except where prohibited by law).
